Real Or Not Rating: ★★★★  (1 Being the Worst, 5 Being the Best.)

REAL– How the real world works:

  1. Acute liver failure causes brain edema (swelling). When Hailey is rushed to ED due to swelling of her brain, Dr. Manning is right when she says it is because of acute liver failure. In reality, liver is an organ responsible for detoxifying chemicals and metabolizing drugs thus removing waste products from the blood. In her case, Hailey’s liver is not functioning well resulting in accumulation of wastes in the body, specifically in her brain causing it to swell.

  2. When pain goes away, something wrong is going on. Mr. Logan is brought to ED due to belly pain so Dr. Halstead requests for some diagnostic tests. Suddenly, his pain goes away and based on Dr.Halstead’s assessment, part of his bowel is dying. In real life, it’s true that if a person who suffers pain in his abdomen then suddenly doesn’t anymore, it’s not a good sign. It means that when a bowel dies, at first you can’t feel it and will come back as severe pain but it will be too late to treat.

  3. Shamanism is practiced. In this episode, there is room in the ICU which they call “red room” because of its bad luck since three patients died in there the last two weeks. Keoni, a shaman is asked to do some healing in that room. In reality, Shamanism is an ancient healing tradition that is widely practiced in the world.

FAKE– Cringe worthy scenes that would never happen:

  1. Nothing’s wrong with the episode.
