REAL OR NOT — Heartbeat: “Match Game” (1X8)

REAL OR NOT — Heartbeat: “Match Game” (1X8)

In Match Game, we saw a very quick and hectic start with Alex’s dad experiencing a little attack. The episode of Heartbeat became even more interesting after Alex went to the opera and found out that her father had a mistress for more than 30 years… What will happen now? How will this affect Alex and her relationships? With the show getting less and less medical, it is still a question whether it will be renewed for another season. At least we all enjoyed Alex’s French! How good is Melissa George!

CHARACTERS TO WATCH FOR:

  • Alex, Pierce, Jessie. Alex’s dad and Alex. Everything seems to be too complicated currently. Especially Alex and Isabel. And Alex and Jessie. This episode probably taught us that Alex is the same as her dad, she can love two men at the same time, but I wonder what will Pierce will say? I mean there has to be some rules in that relationship!

REAL OR NOT RATING: ★★★

(1 Being the Worst, 5 Being the Best.)

REAL: How the real world works:

  • Not being able to find a match when you need an organ donor. It is a long and incredibly scary process and there are a lot of times when people just cannot be matched with no one in their family.
  • People feeling great within a day of a transplant operation. Well, maybe in this case Isabel left just after the surgery making it slightly doubtable, but the rest does seem quite realistic.

FAKE: Cringe worthy scenes that would never happen:

  • Alex treating her dad. There is one rule in medicine: you’re never allowed to treat your family members or the mistresses of the family members. That is the thing that would just never happen and Alex was doing this free of charge. At least they didn’t let her operate her on her dad!
  • Alex not sleeping for 30 hours straight. Yes, not only does she look like a ghost but she does act like she’s a superwoman. Go get some sleep!
